DESCRIPTION:Ever wondered what happens with your waste once it’s picked up from the verge? Or thought about where to take items that can’t go in any of your household bins? \n\nFind out at a community tour of your local West Metro Recycling Centre in Shenton Park! See for yourself how a transfer station operates and the different community recycling services we offer local residents .\nWhat we’ll cover:\n\nThe history of Perth landfills and waste disposal\nThe purpose of transfer stations in recovery of residual\, green and Food Organics Garden Organics (FOGO) waste.\nDisposal options for household waste including the recycling and recovery processes for cardboard\, e-waste\, bulk polystyrene\, plastic plant pot\, bicycles\, x-ray\, white goods\, cooking oil\, mattress\, scrap metal recycling\, and more\, and the different local organisations we partner with to make it happen!\nGovernment and industry initiatives that exist so that you can safely dispose of hazardous and problematic household items like paint\, poisons\, pesticides\, flares\, batteries\, fluorescent tubes\, fire extinguishers\, electronic waste and more for free at the Recycling Centre.\nEvent details:\n\nTime: 9.30am-11.00am\n\nWear: Fully enclosed footwear \, hat and sunscreen. Bring your own water bottle.\n\nTour: Your tour involves walking around an active site outdoors . A reasonable level of fitness is required. Your tour will be followed by time for questions\, a cuppa or coffee and light refreshments.\n\nRSVP: https://events.humanitix.com/west-metro-recycling-centre…\nTickets: Cost $5 + Eventbrite booking fee.\n\nTickets are non-refundable. If you cannot make this event\, please let us know at least 1 day in advance. Your ticket will then be given to someone on the waitlist and we will issue a voucher for our upcoming WMRC events.\n\nMember council tickets are available to residents from Claremont\, Cottesloe\, Mosman Park\, Peppermint Grove & Subiaco. General admission tickets are available for Cambridge\, Nedlands and residents from other councils. If the ticket cost is a barrier to coming to this event please call on 9384 6711 and we are happy to assist.\n\nThis tour is not suitable for children under the age of 12. Children between the ages of 12-16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.\nBookings are essential as places are limited to 15 people per tour.\n\nWe look forward to seeing you there!

DESCRIPTION:Have your kids got clothes\, shoes\, and accessories they’ve outgrown or no longer wear? 👗👔👟 Could their wardrobe do with an update that doesn’t come at a cost? Then join us at The Palms Community Centre for the WMRC Kids’ Clothing Swap 💃♻️🙌! All you need to do is bring along quality kid’s clothes\, shoes\, and accessories (any style or season) and exchange them for items that are needed instead. 👗✨👠. \nSimply bring whatever you have and/or take whatever you need. \nGot some items to fix? 🛠️ Then bring any clothing\, jewellery or toys that need mending as we will have Repair Lab joining us on Saturday between 9 am to 11 am 🧵. \nDetails: \n📅 Date: Friday 9th February (3 pm – 5 pm) & Saturday 10th February (8 am – 11 am) \n⏳ Length: Come and go anytime.
