DESCRIPTION:🪡 Join Olga and her team from Studio Thimbles to learn how to use visible mending to fix and revive your items! 🧵 This workshop series is designed to teach you some practical mending skills and encourage you to get creative\, and personalise your clothing 👕.❗This is a 3-part workshop series and attendees are expected to attend all workshops ❗ \nThis workshop series runs over three weeks: \n\nMonday 28th April\, 5.30pm-8pm\nMonday 5th May\, 5.30pm-8pm\nMonday 12th May\, 5.30pm-8.30pm\n\nDuring workshop 1 & 2 you will learn: \n\nFundamental skills for hand sewing such as setting up the needle\, tying proper knots and how to start & finish your stitching\nVarious hand-stitching methods that are essential for mending\nHow to do embroidery stitching to add decorative elements to the mending process\nElements of Sashiko stitching\, a traditional Japanese technique that is popular in the world of visible mending\n\nFor workshop 3\, please bring in a personal item to mend. \n  \n🚗Parking: Parking is available at Subi Carpark located on the corner of Rokeby Rd & Barker Rd. DESCRIPTION:Join us at CLAW Environmental to find out how polystyrene\, plastic lids and plastic plant pots are recycled! See for yourself how a plastics recycling facility works and the different types of plastics that CAN and CAN’T be recycled. You will learn how different plastics are processed\, pelletised\, and manufactured into new recycled plastic products. \nWhat to wear: Fully enclosed shoes 👞\nIt is also recommended you wear darker coloured clothes as it can get a little dusty and dirty on site. Bring your own water bottle and hat. \nProtection Gear: Single-use ear plugs will be provided on the tour. Please BYO ear plugs if you have some and would like to reduce your waste.\nReusable high-visibility vests & hats will also be provided. \nTour: Your tour involves walking around an active site outdoors 🌞.\nA reasonable level of fitness is required. \nWant to know more?\nThis tour is part of the Reduce\, Reuse\, Recycle; The Ultimate Guide workshop series\, running across the western suburbs in 2025.
