The JFR (Jim) McGeough Resource Recovery Facility (formerly Brockway Transfer Station) comprises:
|Waste Transfer Station||Domestic Recycling||
|Household Hazardous Waste||Problematic Waste||Waste Processing|
Around 38,000 tonnes of waste is received at the facility each year. After weighing, the waste is loaded and compacted in to heavy haulage silos and transported to landfill.
No landfilling occurs on the site; it is simply a transfer station where waste is aggregated for bulk haulage to landfill. The transfer station also allows for recyclables to be recovered from the waste stream.
